    Cigar: Cigar Clowns Geppetto
I smoked this cigar and I enjoyed it tremendously, way more than I expected. It might have been the fact that I have not smoked a cigar in a week due to illness and my taste buds are hyperactive and hypersensitive. I will give it a try again when I can put my hands on another one to buy. Let me know if I am close with my rating.

    Cigar: AG Ambassador 109
Enjoying the site and reviews, and for the most part our palates align.

I see you’ve tried most of the AG stuff. I highly recommend you take the ambassador 109 for a spin, as well as the gloriouso. Both are delicious favorites.

Alex’s new world blends reflect his Cuban cigar foundations like no other new world does, and these both are stellar examples.

Happy you are enjoying my list. That was the purpose of me publishing it online, for BsOTL to try the cigars I liked if our palates align. I appreciate the feedback and the recommendations. With that cuban foundations topic you should try the super corona Isabela cigar, it’s on the medium side. Looks like LA Aficionado is the only place that carries the Ambassador or do you buy them from a different site?

    Cigar: Apostate Cigars Moroni’s Trumpet
You know I don’t write about every cigar I smoke, but for this one I had to send a general warning to the BOTL community. Don’t waste your time. It is vile and offensive. Bad draw and burn and no character. I would give it a 0 but I am not that kind of guy because someone might enjoy it if they can get it to smoke. My first Apostate was the Sword of Laban and I thought it was amazing so I went ahead and bought the rest. I hope they don’t all turn out like the Moroni’s Trumpet. Abou Cigar out.

    Padron 1964 Anniversary TAA Toro Maduro (5″ x 56)

The cigar delivered exactly what I expect from the Padron 1964 line: rich flavor, flawless construction, and a relaxing smoke that never became overwhelming. From the first few draws, the cigar produced thick creamy smoke loaded with cocoa, espresso, cedar, and a natural Maduro sweetness.

The burn was razor sharp for most of the cigar with an effortless draw and solid ash. Flavor-wise, it stayed very consistent throughout, leaning heavily into dark chocolate, roasted coffee, earth, and toasted nuts. There was also a nice pepper note on the retrohale that kept the profile interesting without becoming too aggressive.

As the cigar progressed, some leather and darker earthy notes started to appear, giving it a little more depth. While the cigar was extremely smooth and enjoyable, I felt it stayed more consistent than evolving dramatically, which is really the only thing keeping it from scoring even higher for me.

At medium-full strength, this is an easy cigar to sit back and enjoy any time. It burned cool all the way down to the nub with no harshness and left a long finish of cocoa and espresso on the palate.

A fantastic cigar overall and another reminder why the Padron 1964 line continues to be one of the safest bets in the hobby.

    Score: 95/100
    Price Paid: $18
    Strength: Medium-Full
    Date Smoked: 05/18/26
